Thomas Joseph Gruber, age 50, of Lime Ridge passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at UW Hospital, Madison as a result of injuries he sustained in an accident at home. He was born on March 18, 1966, in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, the son of Alois L. and Cecelia M. (Howard) Gruber. Tom was employed at Lakeside Foods for over 30 years. Tom had a green thumb and grew a plentiful garden every summer. He generously shared the vegetables he grew with family and friends. Along with hunting and fishing, Tom loved being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his dogs through the years. He will be remembered as being a very generous person who would willingly help anyone in need. He had a gentle and kind spirit for all.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Alois.
He is survived by his mother, Cecelia of Lime Ridge;
Brother, Larry (Kelly) Gruber of Slinger;
Sister, Theresa (Brent) Douglas of Prairie du Sac;
Nieces and nephews, Ryne and Jay Gruber, Cole and Addison Douglas;
Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas J. Gruber will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Loreto, with Father David Carrano officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
