Ruth Ann Mead, age 73, of Reedsburg, passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2016, at St Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Ruth was born on May 16, 1943 in Richland Center, WI, to the late Floyd and Helen (Richards) Denman. On May 9, 1964 she married Carl Mead in Lime Ridge. Ruth enjoyed gardening, canning, puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held extra special places in her heart. Ruth is survived by her loving husband Carl of 52 years. She is survived by five children: Kevin (Krista) Mead of Austin, MN, Kenda (Bruce) Hesse of Arlington, WI, Kristi (Don) Gillett of Reedsburg, Kurt Mead of Reedsburg, and Kathi (Vince Heiman) Mead of Stevens Point, WI. Eleven grandchildren: Michael Hesse; Andy (Beth) Bell, Heather (Dustin) Gasser, Tanya Nemec, Tosha Gillett; Hunter and Myles Mead; Haley, Hannah, Lindsay, and Ryan Mead. Seven great grandchildren: Shelby, Jaxson, Briella, Beckett, Landon, Evan and Carissa. Ruth is also survived by her brother Paul (Barb) Denman, Sister-in-Law Joyce Denman, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Thomas Hesse, and a brother Francis Denman. Funeral Services for Ruth will take place Monday, August 22, 2016, at 11:00 am, at Reedsburg United Methodist Church. Reverend Marvin Singh, Pastor, will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow services at Lime Ridge Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
