Rozalind Elz Obituary

Rozalind Mary Elz (Schaff) November 2, 1947 - August 10, 2016 Rozalind found eternal peace at home with her family on Wednesday August 10, 2016. After a courageous battle with ovarian cancer she passed peacefully at the age of 68. She was the loving and faithful wife of Wayne Elz for 50 years, and beloved mother of Shawn (Brian) Schneider, James (Rebecca) Elz, Corrine (Timothy) Bieneck and Gena (Gregory) Mueller. A treasured grandmother to Evan, Kailyn, Erika, Justin, Faith, Zachary, Ella, Layla and Harper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Marie Schaff, a brother-in-law Dennis Elz who she cared for and looked after, brother-in-law Warren Schroeckenthaler, and her oldest granddaughter Alyssa Elz. She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters - Glorianne, Maureen, Yvonne, Robert, Susan, Gerald, Ronald and June. Rozalind was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Messmer High School. She married Wayne on May 21, 1966. They bought their first home in Milwaukee and had four children, before moving to Dousman, WI where they lived for 25+ years. Her life was filled with many memorable camping trips, cherished time spent at the cabin on the Black River, traveling with friends and family, outdoor country concerts, line dancing, entertaining friends, ski trips, and hosting numerous family parties in her home. She had a great skill for sewing, a genuine admiration for nature and all of its beauty, a respect for animals, and an amazing ability to accept people for who they are. She and Wayne moved to La Valle, WI to retire, where she enjoyed visits from family and grandchildren, excursions with her girlfriends from Dutch Hollow community along with being involved in many clubs and activities. Rozalind was also a very active member of her church throughout her life and had a deep love and faith in God. She touched so many people's hearts with her kind and gentle soul and positive attitude that never seemed to fade. Rozalind will be very warmly remembered by many relatives and friends and beloved brother-in-law and sister-in-law Howard and Marjorie Elz. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rozalind on Sunday August 21, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church (310 Bluff Street, La Valle, WI), at 4:00 pm. The Reverend Scott Emerson will be the Celebrant. Visitation will also be on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm with Mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations will be made to ovarian cancer research.
