Ronald E. Gasser, age 73, of LaValle, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Reedsburg Area Medical Center. He was born on August 31, 1943, the son of Cyril L. and Jean Ann (Miller) Gasser. On August 5, 1967 he was united in marriage to Carol A. Jensen at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lime Ridge. This marriage was blessed with four children. Ron was born and raised on the family farm and currently lived there. He was a 1963 graduate of Webb High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy. Ron was a self-employed blacksmith. He enjoyed logging, the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and was a Packer and Badger Fan. Ron truly loved his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Ryllan Carpenter. Ron is survived by: His wife: Carol of LaValle;Children: Tim (Christy) Gasser of Baraboo, Wendy (Wally) Schwenn of Baraboo, Amanda Gasser (Ryan Millard) of Baraboo, Stacy (Adam) Cichowski of Elroy; Eight grandchildren: Kelsey, Jordan, Ava, Abby, Olivia, Kiahna, William and Jonathan; Sisters: Carolyn Elder of Hobart, New York, Roberta Gassere, Mt. Horeb, Kathleen Derge of Mt. Vernon; Nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald Gasser will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2106, at Holy Family Catholic Church, LaValle, with Father Scott Emerson officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, rural Ironton. Friends may call on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. The Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
