Marian Leece Obituary

Marian Frances Leece, age 79, of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at the Reedsburg Area Senior Life Center. She was born on April 17, 1937, in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, the daughter of Glenn and Selma (Young) Waddell. Marian graduated from Baraboo High School in 1955. On August 29, 1959, Marian was united in marriage to Donald “Pete” Leece. Marian was employed in the legal department as an Administrative Assistant at Cuna Mutual in Madison for 33 years. She was very talented musically and was an accomplished organist and accordion player. She also sang for weddings and funerals through the years. Marian croched beautiful afgahns and enjoyed traveling with Pete. She held a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Stanhope and Dennis Pfeil. She is survived by her husband Donald of Reedsburg; Brothers and sisters: Barbara Stanhope of Highland, CA, Jeanette Pfeil of Waunakee, Rolland (Shirley) Waddell of Puyallup, WA, and Gene (Denise) Waddell of McFarland; Many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, including her special high school friends: Beverly Vertein, Shirley Baumgarten, Barb Moon, and Colleen Terry. A private family memorial service honoring Marian will be held at the United Methodist Church, North Freedom at a later date. Burial will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery, North Freedom. Memorials may be made to the North Freedom United Methodist Church. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
