Kenneth Shannon ‘Shan’ Fisher, 54, of McCook Nebraska, formerly of Reedsburg, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday September 12th, 2016. Shan was born on March 3rd, 1962 in Reedsburg to Kenneth and Jane (Bennett) Fisher. Shan graduated from Webb High School in 1980 and attended UW Platteville. He was united in marriage to Janet Newlun in April of 1986. Shan worked for many years in construction and excelled at it. Shan was also an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and spend time with nature. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and watching sports. Shan was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and many aunts and uncles. He is survived by his mother Jane Fisher of Reedsburg; sister Becky (Dave) Knull of Reedsburg; sister Linda (Rich) Carpenter of Oxford, NE; brother Rob (Tina) Fisher of McCook, NE; nieces and nephews; Erik (Tammy) Knull of Reedsburg, Ben (Ann) Dorn of LaValle, Andrew (Amy) Carpenter of Holdrege, NE; Travis (Anna) Carpenter of Omaha, NE; Wendy (Nate) Parr of Fremont, NE; Amanda (Chad) Armstrong of Reedsburg; Shannon Knull of Reedsburg; Tyler Fisher of Thorton, CO; Jacey Fisher of Thorton, CO and Holly Cameron of McCook, NE. He is further survived by many great nieces and nephews, his beloved friends, extended family, and Janet Fisher, ex wife and great friend. Graveside services will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery in LaValle at 10 am on October 8, 2016, officiated by Pastor Joe Corbin. A Celebration of Shan’s life will be held at the American Legion in LaValle on October 8, 2016 from 11 am until 2 pm.
