Dorothy E. Brennan, age 84, of Reedsburg, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at St. Clare Hospital in Baraboo. She was born on December 25, 1931, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Steuber) Conners. Dorothy graduated from Baraboo High School in 1949, and from Sauk County Teachers College in 1952. She taught school for five years. She then became a ward secretary at Sauk County Health Care Center for 34 years. On August 20, 1955, Dorothy was united in marriage to Eugene L. Brennan. This marriage was blessed with two daughters. Eugene preceded her in death on May 5, 1998. Dorothy adored animals and nature. She had an immaculate yard and spent much of her free time gardening. She loved to read and watch films. Dorothy was a wonderful friend and confidant to many, and her kind-heartedness and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew her. She cherished the time she spent with her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Reedsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; step-mother, Mary Condon-Conners; Aunts, Esther Seikel and Pauline Spiegel. Dorothy is survived by her beloved daughters, Deborah (Jerrald) Halweg of Merrimac, and Susan (William) Wagner of Plymouth; Beloved grandsons, Michael (Whitney) Halweg of Prairie du Sac, and Jeffrey (Brandi) Halweg of Prairie du Sac; Great grandchildren, Brantley and Blakeley Halweg; Half-brothers, Joseph Conners of Waterford, and John Conners of Reedsburg; Half-sister, Helen Grosshans of Sheboygan. A private family memorial service for Dorothy E. Brennan will be conducted at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Sauk County Humane Society in lieu of flowers. The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
