William King Obituary

William P. King, Jr., 89, of Weston passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Weston on November 14, 1926: son of the late Dr. William P. King, Sr. and Martha (Grant) King. Bill was first married to Shirley Kemper King, who preceded him in death. On January 30, 1969, he then married Margaret Ann (Turner) King, who survives. Mr. King is also survived by two daughters: Martha Joette King Talbott and husband Lee of Kingsport, TN and Elaine Ann KingTalbott of Buckhannon, two son: William P. King, III and wife Barbara of Weston and Michael P. Genevie and wife Kathy of Abbeville, SC. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Jessica Lynn King Gee, William Shawn King, Morgan Leigh Talbott, Hannah ElizabethTalbott, Hillary Anne Talbott, and Meg Genevie and one great granddaughter: Briea Sara Gee. Bill is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Robert Grant King and wife Ilene of Memphis, TN and one neice: Kimberly and husband Scott Brothers and family. Mr. King was the right-of-way engineer at West Virginia Department of Highways, District# 7 of Weston for several years. He was a member of the St Paul's Episcopal Church of Weston. Mr. King was an active member of many organizations. He was active with the Weston Jaycees, Little League Basketball and Pop Warner Football, a member of Weston Masonic Lodge #10 AF & AM where he was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg and the Lewis County Shrine Club. He was a member of the Weston Moose Lodge #1376 of Weston and was bestowed the highest honor of Pilgrim at the national level. Bill's hobby was- GOLF! He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. Mr. King’s request for cremation will be honored and professionally carried out. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Pauls Episcopal with Father John Valentine as celebrant. Fellowship time will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m from West Hall of the church where they will receive friends and family.Weston Moose Lodge #1376 of Weston will conduct the Broken Wheel service in West Hall at 12:00 noon.
