Robert Allen Ramsey, 59, of Oak Ridge Drive, Jane Lew passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in Canaan Valley. He was born in Weston on May 25, 1957: son of Robert Lester Ramsey and Della Jean (McCartney) Rymer and step-mother Margaret (Metzgar) Ramsey. On October 8, 2011, he married Deborah (Doss) Ramsey, who survives. Bob is survived by two sons: Ethan and Evan Ramsey both of Clarksburg and three step sons: Scott and Zachary Hannah both of Scott Depot, WV and Brian Doss of Davin, WV. He is also survived by three step brothers: Mike Adams of Idaho Falls, ID, Steve Adams of Virginia Beach, VA and Jeff Adams, one sister: Beverly Turner of Elkins, one special cousin: Paula Ramsey of Weston and several nieces and nephews. Bob owned Ramsey Insurance Services, Inc. at 146 Main Avenue in Weston, WV. He had entered into insurance at the age of 17, when he joined the business that had been in the family since 1929. He valued personal relationships he had with all his customers. Bob had a heart for serving others. He was a member of the Horizons Church at Lost Creek where he joyfully ushered and served on the Careforce Ministry in addition to volunteering for many service projects. Serving seemed to be Bob’s passion. He found many places in the community to volunteer and help others. He was a member of the Lewis County Chamber for years and was the current President. Bob also enjoyed working with the Jane Lew Lions Club and Lewis County First. Bob loved the outdoors and any kind of sport that spiked his adrenaline. He was an avid sky diver, enjoyed zip lining, and snow skiing with his sons, Ethan and Evan. In the past several years, he was fortunate enough to enjoy traveling to a few places on his bucket list with some friends, and best friend and wife, Debbie. Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon at the Horizons Church 8302 Mt Clare Road Lost Creek, WV with Pastor Quint Pitts officiating.
