OBITUARY (6/17/2016) James Corder Cross, 91 yrs. old, of Camden, WV went home to be with the Lord June 17, 2016 following a brief illness. James was born December 26, 1924, his parents were the late Thurman H. Cross and Sophie I. (McKimmie) Cross. James is survived by his wife Letha M. (Hess) Cross of 67 years. James was the father of one daughter: Brenda J. Beall & Earl of Canal Fulton, Ohio, two sons: Gregory N. Cross & Tamela of Sistersville, WV and Caesy L. Cross of Camden, five grandchildren: Alex Smith, Jessica Smith, Suzie Shartzer, Bradley Cross and James Cross, and four great-grandchildren: Brandon Sharter, Dylan Shartzer, Emma Cross and Ahli Cross. Surviving also is one brother: Ralph Cross and one sister: Eloise Nye. He was predeceased by three brothers: McCuskey, Howard and Delano, and five sisters: Marie, Isabelle, Marjorie, Betty, and Jewel. James was retired from CNG were he first worked as a machinist and retired as a crew leader that repaired and maintained all the large compressors that pumped gas throughout the Eastern Seaboard. He had 36 years of faithful service. In retirement he designed and built all sorts of items needed for the house and outdoors. He was truly amazing with all his natural talents and abilities. He was a member of Rock Grove Baptist Church. His true love in life was his wife, children, and especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating.
