Clarence Paul Weber, 91, of 222 Cottage Avenue Weston, West Virginia passed away peacefully in his sleep October 2, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Nicholas County on February 13, 1925 a son of the late Lemuel Raymond and Grace Dora Shea Weber. Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (Droppleman) Weber, whom he married on October 15, 1960 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Weston. Also surviving are daughters: Kathryn Sims and husband, Robert, and their daughter Kari; Barbara James and her children Natalie and Michael; a Son: Timothy and wife, Glenda with their children Eliza and Cassy; a Step-daughter: Mary Ann (McGann) Batard of France; step-grandchildren: Sean, Azilys, Daniel Batard; two step-great-grandchildren twins Dywann and Elwyn Batard; and brother –in-law: John Droppleman of Fayette County. In addition he was survived by several wonderful nieces and nephews. He enjoyed the company and humor of his caregiver, Robert Thompson, who assisted him for several months. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, all veterans; William, Raymond, Lawrence, James, Robert, and Harold; two sisters: Mary Louise Weber, RN, and veteran, Helen Ellis, RN. and, Heather E. Weber an infant granddaughter. Being the youngest son and owner of a dairy farm on Town Run Road, Clarence was deferred from the draft. He was a 1943 graduate of Saint Patrick High School. He worked at the West Virginia Glass Factory and later retired from Moore Business Forms in Buckhannon. He was a lifelong member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years. He enjoyed volunteering and spending his time at the Lewis County Senior Center, as well as wood-working projects, gardening, and listening to the birds sing sweet lullabies. He took great pride in his yard work and flower boxes until his health declined. Many enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor and likeable personality which he passed down to his children, and the grandchildren say “Nobody could make fried chicken and mashed potatoes like Grandpa”. His smile will be greatly missed. Family and friends will gather at Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 3-8 p.m., with the rosary at 7:15 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from Saint Patrick Catholic Church of Weston with Father James R. DeViese, Jr. J.C.L. as celebrant.
