Drushey May “Dody” Ramey, 86, of Salem, passed away at 7:45pm, Monday, September 12, 2016 at West Virginia University Hospital Ruby Memorial. She was born in Mouthcard, KY, April 9, 1930, a daughter of the late John Henry and Florence Taylor Ramey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Lacy Eugene Owens, in 1991. Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Gail Lee and her husband Randy, Swisher Hill, Fairmont, grandchildren, Shannon Ramey, Clarksburg, Sean Lee, White Hall, great grandchildren, Cassidy, Lacie, and Logan McCloy, three brothers, Harold Ramey and William “Bill” Ramey and his wife Phyllis, both of Mouthcard, KY, and Carmel Ramey and his wife Avenelle, Lick Creek, KY, several nieces and nephews, two special friends, Anna Mae Dutton and Louise Cole, both of Salem. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters, Ruth Scott, Nell Harrison, Brooksie Hackney, Lutie Wright, Myrtie Coleman, and Mary and Martha Ramey, who were infant twins, two brothers, Leamon Ramey and Gary Wilbert Ramey, an infant. Mrs. Ramey attended the Swisher Hill Union Mission Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, and reading her bible. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and traveling to Kentucky to visit her extended family. The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., from 3-8pm, Thursday where funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday, September 16, with Pastor Chad Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Enterprise.
