Doris Sharp

Doris Sharp, 85, of Wyatt, went to be with the Lord at 3:40pm, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Wyatt, August 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Roy and Merle Carpenter Parks. On February 28, 1948, she married Harry L. Sharp who preceded her in death on April 1, 2006. Surviving are one daughter, Sue Vogt and her husband Greg, Wyatt, two grandchildren, Greg Sharp, Huntington, Aundriea Sharp and her fiancé Greg Higgins, Murrysville, PA, great-granddaughter, Tiarra Sharp, Fairmont, four sisters, Martha Davis and her husband James, Stonewood, Janice Oswald and her husband Ozzie, MI, Linda Bird and her husband Mape, FL, Wanda Elza, TX, and one daughter-in-law, Shelia Sharp Gripper, Farmington. She was also preceded in death by one son, Roger Lee Sharp, one daughter, Kimberly Sharp, two brothers, Glenn Parks and Charles Parks, and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Sharp. Doris was a homemaker and a founding member of Jewel City Church, Shinnston. She was a great gardener and loved working outside. She was a loving mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends at Jewel City Church, 305 Haywood Rd., Shinnston from 2-8pm, Wednesday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, April 7 with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.perinefunerals.com. The Perine Funeral home is honored to serve the Sharp family.
