David Leroy Wilfong, 66, of Enterprise, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Harrison County, September 13, 1949 a son of Wilber L. Wilfong and the late Lena Ellen Lindsey Wilfong. He is survived by his wife, Linda Gay Lipps Wilfong whom he married October 29, 2004, two daughters, Reginna Wagoner and husband Jonathan, Morgantown, and Susan White, Morgantown, step daughter, Nannette Hixon and husband Bob, Mannington, step son, Gale Maxwell and wife Deeann, Alabama, grandchildren, Mary and Jacob Costello, Chandler and Madison Wagner, Katie Keener and Anna White, all of Morgantown, step grandchildren, Jimmy Lee and Martha Howard, Spelter, William, Dawson, Emily Dixon, Alabama, Hunter and Katilyn Maxwell, Alabama, one brother, Jerry Wilfong and wife Carla, Enterprise, and two sisters, Roberta Hammond and husband Earl, Pensacola, FL, Diana Fortney and husband Jim, Shinnston. David is preceded in death by one son who died in infancy, David Leroy Wilfong, Jr. Mr. Wilfong is a U.S. Navy veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam. He was also employed by Lynch Hydraulic in Fairmont for over 30 years before retiring. David loved his grandkids and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, harmonica, and other instruments. In keeping with his wishes, David was cremated. A graveside service will be held at the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, at 11am Wednesday, June 15, 2016, where full military honors will be accorded.
