Albert G. “Porky” Berardi, 85, of Shinnston, passed away on Monday morning, September 5, 2016 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Clarksburg, April 25, 1931, a son of the late Carmine and Catherine Fetchel Berardi. He is survived by his wife, Norma Lee Pigott Berardi, whom he married in 1963, two children, Carmine G. Berardi, Shinnston, Susan Lynn Carlton and her husband Graham, Salisbury, NC, five grandchildren, Deidra Edgell and her husband Joe, Shinnston, Kristi Marie Berardi, Wallace, Chace Lee Berardi, Shinnston, Sarah Lynn Carlton, and Trey Carlton, both of Salisbury, NC., two great-grandchildren, Mason and Bristol Edgell, one sister, Deloris Signorelli, Clarksburg, brother-in-law, George Pigott and his fiancé Laura Sypolt, Fairmont, many nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Jimmy Mazzie and his wife Annie, Clarksburg. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Mickey Signorelli and one nephew, David Signorelli. Mr. Berardi was a veteran having served with the United State Marine Corps. He was previously employed at the Shinnston Sports Shop, the State ABC Store in Shinnston, and Consol Energy from which he retired in 1992 as a truck driver out of the Monongah shop. He was raised Catholic and attended the St. Ann Catholic Church in Shinnston. Later in life he attended Jewel City Church, Haywood. Mr. Berardi was a member of the Clarksburg Columbian Club, the American Legion Post # 31, Shinnston, and a life member of the NRA. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting camp at Dry Fork and working outdoors at his home. The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Thursday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, September 9, with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating.
