Grace Scott

Grace L. Scott, 79, of New Martinsville, WV died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at her home while surrounded by her family. Grace was born August 28, 1937 in New Martinsville, WV, daughter of Grover and Audella (Maury) Winland. She was a caregiver for many years; she worked at the former Viking Glass in New Martinsville and Corning Glass in Paden City, past president and Union Steward for the American Flint Glass Workers Union, member of United Methodist Women and member of New Martinsville United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Charles “Chuck” E. Scott; daughter, Donna (Darrell) Ashenhart of New Martinsville, WV; three step-children, Charlene Morando and Linda Bagenstos both of Boca Raton, FL and David Scott of Michigan; brother, Danny (Cloy) Winland of New Martinsville, WV; sister, Thelma Hartline of Belpre, OH; two grandchildren, Rachelle Ashenhart and Brittany Ashenhart Nunez; seven step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2016 with Pastor Sharlotta Green officiating. Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
