Floyd “Buster” Ray Cecil, 89, of Proctor, WV died Wednesday, July 13, 2016 while at Genesis New Martinsville. Floyd was born January 7, 1927 in Proctor, WV, son of the late Edward L. and Bessie V. (Woods) Cecil. “Buster” was a retired rural mail carrier, a Sargent in the U.S. Army during WWII and later served in the Korean Conflict, member of I.O.O.F. Magnolia Lodge #42, American Legion Post 28 for sixty-eight years and member of Antioch Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Patricia and Nancy; grandson, Gregory Maine; four brothers, Glen A. Cecil, Edward B. Cecil, Sonny Lee Cecil and an adolescent, Samp Cecil and three sisters, Nelda Emch, Sally Sue Parks and Mary Lou Athey. Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, Mitzielou Cecil; two sons, William (Susan) Cecil of Paden City, WV and Edward Cecil of Boaz, AL; three daughters, Linda Sue (Darrel) Pritt of Fountain, FL, Susan Maine of Proctor, WV and Kimberly (Mark) Hickman of Triadelphia, WV; sister, Edna Doty of New Martinsville, WV; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his beloved dog, Tiger. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016 with Lemoyne Horner officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV. Honor Guard to conduct military service.
