FAYETTEVILLE- Jerry Wayne Patrick, 63 of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family following an extended illness. Born on June 9, 1953 in Fayetteville to the late William James Patrick, Sr. and Betty June Day Patrick. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and loved to make others laugh and have fun. He never met a stranger and had a heart of gold and would go out of his way to make others happy and comfortable. Known as the “cereal killer” because of his love for cereal. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and brother and will be sadly missed. Those surviving include his loving wife of 40 years, Rose Patrick; children, Chris Patrick and wife Jodi of Beckley and Amanda Dempsey and husband Jeremy of Summersville; brothers, William “Bill” Patrick, Jr and wife Sandy of Fayetteville and Brian Patrick and wife Sue of Rainelle; grandchildren, Brooke and Dylan Dempsey, Braiden and Cali Patrick, and Christopher Patrick, Jr. Services for Jerry will be conducted at 5pm on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Butch Collins officiating. In keeping with Jerry’s final wishes he will be cremated after the services. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia P.O. Box 1472 Beckley, WV 25802, in memory of Jerry.
