Curtis Dancy

Curtis Renn Dancy, 66 of Pinellas Park, FL, currently residing in Coal City, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 following a sudden illness. Born September 27, 1949 in McDowell County, WV to the late Herbert Dancy and Lucy McKinney Dancy. Curtis was of the Pentecostal Faith and served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and attended Military Police Academy. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing. He was a loving brother to Thomas, whom each other shadowed. He will be truly missed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Mathew Dancy. Survivors include his fiancé of 14 years, Carolyn Simon; step sons, Bobby Dancy of Michigan and Gerald Simon of Florida; brothers, Thomas Dancy and wife Mary of Coal City and Edward Bolen and companion Kathy of Princewick; granddaughter, Makayla “Katie Pops” Simon; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. In keeping with Mr. Dancy’s final wishes he will be cremated and his family will hold memorial services and burial of his urn at a later date.
