Vivian Hollis Obituary

Vivian M. Hollis, 88, of Martinsburg, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2016. Born December 13, 1927, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Margaret Britt Ponton. She was retired from the Berkeley County Board of Education, having served as a cook at South Middle School in Martinsburg, WV. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a member of the Retired Teachers' Association. She is survived by her children, Robert S. Timberlake, Jr. of Inwood, WV, Barry L. Timberlake (Cheryl) of Abbotsville, PA, Sylvia A. Palmer of Martinsburg, Marjorie L. McClanahan (Mac) of Manassas Park, VA; step-son, David Hollis (Linda) of Martinsburg; ten grandchildren, Richard Rockwell, Gerald "Gerry" Hess, Brian Timberlake, Brent Rockwell, Aaron Timberlake, Angela Golliday, Benjamin Timberlake, Daniel Timberlake, Megan Timberlake, Ryan Timberlake, and one step-grandson, Troy Hollis; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Catherine M. Whitmore (Wayne); two sisters-in-law, Irene Ponton and Lou Ann Ponton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert S. Timberlake, Sr., her second husband, James F. Hollis; one son, Richard Lynn Timberlake; three brothers, Charles, George, Donald Ponton; and one great-grandson, Gage M. Hess. A special thank you to her caregivers, Ollie and Bucky Silveous. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 11:00AM at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 220 W. Burke Street, Martinsburg, WV 25401 or Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
