In Loving Memory of Dorise “Puddin” Gwendolyn (Gaither) Ballou, Born: December 6, 1953, Sunset: October 14, 2016. Dorise Ballou also known as Puddin to the family and friends. She was born December 6, 1953 in Montgomery County, Maryland to the late William Howard Taft Hill, Sr. and Novella Virginia Gaither Hill. Dorise “Puddin” was the oldest of ten children. Dorise “Puddin” departed this life on October 14, 2016. She leaves behind a loving and devoted husband, Kit Ballou, Jr., a son, Donnelle Ballou (Wendi) and daughter Perita Ballou, three God Daughters, Lakeisha, Janell and Tamm, five sisters, Constance Maria Hill, Grace Jeanette Nickens (Ralph), Gloria Jean Murray (Nickey) Nieka Jaquay Hill Simmons (Kenyaun) and Nikon Jirvette Hill Coston (Rakeem), four brothers, William Howard Taft Hill, Jr. (Janetta), Tiran Antonio Hill (Kelli), Clarence George Carroll and Calvin Carroll, two brother in-laws Charlie Ballou and George Ballou (Carolyn), one uncle David Love (Cheryl) and two aunts, Audrey Lyles and Alyce Gaither, ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, a host of nieces and nephews, also great niece and nephews. Dorise “Puddin” was a devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church for several years. Dorise “Puddin” attended Sherwood High School and worked at Rockville Nursing Home for twenty years or more before retiring, so she met a lot of devoted friends there. Dorise “Puddin” most enjoyable things in her life was her family, friends, yard sales, crocheting and going on the river bank with her husband. She also leaves behind special friends Carolyn and Barbara. A Life Celebration Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the St. Paul Baptist Church with the Reverend Clyde Eggleton and Reverend Jeanette Eggleton officiating. Interment will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Martinsburg, WV. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, Ranson, WV.
