Jean Stalnaker, 89, of Annamoriah, WV was called home April 11, 2016 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on April 10, 1927, the daughter of the late Gailey and Jettie Hoskins McKown of Arnoldsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William A. Stalnaker, Sr. and one grandson, Eric Joseph Romage. Survivors include two sons, William A. Stalnaker, Jr. (Becky) of Elizabeth WV and Robert Neal Stalnaker (Georgia) of Annamoriah; four daughters, Sharon Gherke (Bill) of Grantsville WV, Beth Alltop (Hugh) of Annamoriah, Connie Roberts (Rodney) of Mineral Wells WV, and Melissa Layhew (Todd) of Ripley WV. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers, Dick and Bernard McKown, and one sister, Irene McKown Hildreth. Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Minnora Cemetery.
