Fumiko Yamanoha Welch, 84, of Grantsville, WV passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, WV. She was born Jun 2, 1932 in Okinawa, Japan, a daughter of the late Sanda Yamanoha and Mainu Sunabe. She enjoyed spending time with family, doing puzzles and playing bingo. She enjoyed going to the Committee on Aging and going on day trips. She always had a positive outlook on life and loved to laugh. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, William F. Welch, one brother, three sisters, and one great-granddaughter, Ella Nicole Perkins. She is survived by sons, Steven Welch (Shannon) and Richard Welch (Rebecca), daughter, Sandy Weaver (David), brother Tatsuo Yamanoha of Okinawa, sisters, Koja Uto of Okinawa and Shizuko Kinney, six grandchildren, Jordan Welch, Brandon Welch, Taylor Welch, Heather Perkins, Caitlin Weaver, and Addison Welch, and two great-grandchildren, Lily and Alie Perkins. A funeral service will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Weaver officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be in Broomstick Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com
