Dallas Frederick

Dallas Ray Frederick, 83, of Nobe lost his battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born March 23, 1933 at Freed, WV and was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Virgie Richards Frederick. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, the NRA, and the American Legion. He was active in his community by coaching little league football, worked with the Boy Scouts, and American Cancer Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and special trips to their family cabin. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Carlene Nicholas Frederick, and their three children, Jeffrey Frederick and wife Becky of Big Springs, WV; Nina Whytsell and husband Douglas of Martinsburg, WV; and Kyle Frederick of Nashville, TN; brother, George Frederick and wife Patty of Big Springs, WV; six grandchildren, one step-grandson, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Evajean Sams, Lillian Frederick, and Edna Jarvis and brothers, Denzil Frederick and Roger Frederick. Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rick Metheney and Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill UMC Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.stumpfuneralhomes.com In lieu of flowers, the Frederick family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pleasant Hill Church Building Fund.
