Cecil Leon Ramsey, 87, of Glenville, WV passed away August 30, 2016. He was born on February 26, 1929, in
Beckham County, OK, to John F. and Ethel P. Ramsey. Cecil was born 11th of 12 children. He is preceded in
death by his parents, each of his siblings, and his wife, Sonja.
Cecil was a man of many adventures. As a teenager he assisted his family with farming in both Oklahoma
and California. As an adult he did stand-in acting for actor Audy Murphy, worked in canneries, farmed,

passion. Cecil spent decades cattle ranching and owning numerous oil and gas companies in both Oklahoma
and West Virginia.
He loved large family gatherings, his dogs, and tending to his cattle. Cecil had a wonderful sense of humor
that included an ornery streak. He enjoyed watching westerns, boating, hunting, fishing, collecting guns and
sharing family stories.
Cecil is survived by three sons, Warren Ramsey of Ft. Gibson, OK; Van Ramsey & Leon Ramsey both of
Glenville, WV; and daughter, Wanda Ramsey of Prague, OK. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and
11 great-grandchildren.
