Eva Hursey

Eva Isabell (Clevenger) Hursey, age 89 of Harmony Grove Road, Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the Wallace B. Nursing Home in Grafton. She was born September 28, 1926 in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Arkie Scott Clevenger and Bertha (Rose) Clevenger. She is survived by three children, Shirley Jean Robinson,of Grafton, Mary Ann Boyles (Junior) of Grafton, and James Edison "Eddie" Hursey (Dee) of Shinnston; seven grandchildren; ten great­ grandchildrn; one sister, Josephine Telarski of Arizona; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Fetty (Paul) of Fairmont; also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she wa s preceded in death by her husband, James Edison Hursey; two sisters, Artha McCarty and Leona Winters; two brothers, Ralph Clevenger and Harley Clevenger; and one sister-in-law, Shonnett Hursey. Eva worked as an in home caregiver for four years. She was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to her family. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, quilting, and was given the Community Award from the Grafton Rotary Club. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, July 1st from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery.
