Cora “June” (Jeffries) Shoemaker, age 92 of Grafton City Hospital, NCFII, Grafton, WV passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at her residence. She was born April 26, 1923 in Grafton, WV a daughter of the late Virgil Luther Jeffries and Vada Pearl (Shriver) Jeffries Utt. She is survived by three children, Charles V. “Chuck” Jeffries and wife, Paula, of Grafton, David A. Shoemaker and wife Tonia, of Keyser, WV, and Sue A. “Susie” Sapp and husband Jack, also of Grafton; ten grandchildren, Charles V. Jeffries II, David A. Shoemaker II, Andrew R. Shoemaker, Erin E. Mlinarcik (Jarrod), Sara J. Franciosi, Jeffrey L. Tansill, Brigitte K. Tansill, and Gina R. Tansill (Keith); two sisters, Wilberta Atkins of Weyers Cave, VA and Jeanie Webb and husband Heath, of Virginia Beach, VA; also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward Shoemaker; infant granddaughter, Jennifer June Sapp; and ten brothers and sisters, Homer Jeffries, John Jeffries, Doris DeBarr, Ruth Barney, Frances Sheets, Thomas Jeffries, Wilber Utt, David Utt, Clifford Utt, and Richard Utt. June graduated from Grafton High School with the Class of 1944 then from WV Business College in 1945. She was Chief Accountant for Grafton City Hospital for 30 years and was a personal care provider for 14 years. She was a member of the New Testament Fellowship in Grafton. June enjoyed reading, quilting, going to church, and was a wonderful mother and grandmother, sister, and friend. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, March 18th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James E. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodsdale Memorial Park in Grafton.
