Arlan R. “Dick” McCune, age 66, of Orrville, went to be with his Lord on October 28, 2015, at Hospice of Medina County, after a three month illness.
He was born on June 29, 1949, in Orma, WV the son of Ralph and Ocie McCune. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marcella Huska, on December 21, 1968, in Dalton, OH. She survives.
He was a graduate of Rutland High School in Rutland, Ohio and had been employed at the J. M. Smucker Company in Orrville as a production supervisor, until his retirement in 2014. Dick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, target shooting, auctions, and yard sales.
Dick especially loved his grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. He also loved his five Pembroke Welsh Corgis dogs. One of his most outstanding traits was his ability to reach out and make friends with anyone. He was well-liked by everyone who knew him.
In addition to his wife, Marcella, he is survived by a son, Jason (Kathy) McCune of Ashland, OH; daughter, Julie (John) Ellis of Columbia Station, OH; grandchildren, Aurora McCune, Nathan McCune, and Tatyana Ellis; brother, Kenneth (Janet) McCune of Orma, WV; and a sister, Vee (Bob) Johns of Orrville; two uncles he grew-up with, Burl McCune and Darrel McCune; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Steven McCune.
