Virginia Baker Obituary

Virginia N. Baker, 91, of Winchester, died Friday, September 2, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Baker was born June 1, 1925 in Winchester; the daughter of Wheeler E. Nichols and Gertrude Dusing Nichols. She worked as a seamstress with J. Shoeneman Sewing Factory until they closed. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married James G. Baker on June 15, 1957 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Baker preceded her in death on December 26, 2012. She is survived by her children, Shirley a. Drummond of Stephens City, Dennis A. Nichols of Winchester, Linda J. Martinez of Winchester, Nancy L. Johnson of Middletown and Brenda J. Day of Gore; one brother, Godfrey Paul Nichols of Winchester; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles e. Nichols, Leo W. Nichols, Clifford E. Nichols and Theodore B. Nichols. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. William White officiating. Burial will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
