Psalms 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints

Lexie Elswick Kegley (Keggie), age 80, of Lebanon, Va. was taken up to Heaven in the arms of Jesus Christ on Monday, April 18, 2016.

Lexie was employed at the Lebanon Apparel sewing factory for nearly 35 years, where she was highly respected by her coworkers and her community as a whole.

She was the ultimate example of a Godly woman and now leaves with her family the legacy to continually sow the seeds of love as they now are to be examples to their children. Today, Heaven must be a sweeter place. She will be so deeply missed.

Lexie was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and "Susie" Elswick; her husband John Kegley Sr.; her brother, Marvin Elswick Jr. and her sister, Elizabeth Stoots.

She is survived by three daughters, Alisa Meade, Debbie Kegley and Shirley Bledsoe and husband, Jerry; two sons, John Kegley Jr. and wife Linda and Terry Kegley; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Patsy Skorupa and husband Phil; two brothers, Lloyd Elswick and wife Barbara and Jack Elswick and wife Jean; special brother-in-law, Arnold Stoots; special sister-in-law, Marilee Elswick and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in the Owens Funeral Service chapel with Richard Pannell officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Kegley Family Cemetery in Hansonville, Va. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.
