Harlon D. Blankenship, 71, of Thaxton, Va., passed away quietly of natural causes, on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1945, in Buchanan County, Va., the son of the late Sparrell and Dora Blankenship. He was a man who loved life, good conversation--filled with lots of joking, fishing, hunting and NASCAR. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his granddaughter Brynnlee, who was the light of his life.

He is survived by three daughters, Denise Keen, Rebecca Blankenship and Kayla Taylor and two, grandchildren Preston Gilbert and Brynnlee Taylor.

A graveside will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Va.

The family will receive friends at the mausoleum one hour before the service.
