Kathryn Deihl Obituary

Kathryn Deihl Fisher, 78, affectionately known as "Kek Kek", passed away peacefully at her home in Reedville, VA, on August 18, 2016. She was surrounded by her loving family when she went to be with the Lord. Born in Northumberland County and raised in Hampton, VA, Kathryn was the third youngest of six siblings. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1957 where she was the head cheerleader and homecoming queen. She returned to the Northern Neck after meeting and marrying the love of her life, Harold "Teenie" Deihl. They were happily married for 51 years and raised three daughters. She was a longtime member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where she honored the Lord with her passion for creating lovely, one-of-a-kind flower arrangements every week. She spent countless hours on her floral works of art hoping to bring joy and beauty to others. Kathryn took great pride in volunteering with the Northumberland County Rescue Squad for over 30 years. She served as an EMT for many years as a member of the squad. A true lover of nature, she took great delight in sunsets, wildlife, flowers, and all of God's creation. Her favorite hobby was golf, and she enjoyed spending time and competing against friends at Quinton Oaks, where she was a member. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grand children. She never missed a game or event they participated in, no matter the time, place or sport and she was their biggest cheerleader. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband and her parents, Vernard F. and Anne L. Fisher and sisters, Louanna Early and Elizabeth Tasker. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Deihl, Kelly Walker, Kristy Hall and husband, Randy. She is, also, survived by her grandchildren: Lindsay Rose(Shawn), Tyler Shearin(Megan), Elizabeth Nash(Christian), Bryce Packett(Katlyn), Blake Walker, Hannah Walker, Kyle Hall, Alex Hall, and Mary Kathryn Hall; great-grand children: Cameron Nash(Carsyn), Cailey Rose(Pierce), Bayleigh Shearin and Brinley Packett: Sisters: Sarah Atkins and Beckie Midgett and brother, Frank Fisher. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Riverside Foundation , c/o Peninsula Cancer Center, 7544 Medical Drive, Suite B, Gloucester, VA 23061 or the Northumberland County Rescue Squad, P O Box 1, Reedville, VA 22539.
