June Mason

June Ward Mason, 91, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, formerly of Weems passed away on March 1, 2016. She is survived by her sons, Robert P. Mason, Jr. (Sandra) and Ward L. Mason; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Vera Winegar and brothers, Francis "Sonny" Ward and William "Billy" Ward, II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Mason, Sr. She was a devoted Presbyterian, having been a longtime member of Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church in Weems and recently a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. June started singing in her church choirs at the age of 14 and was still an active member until her death. She loved to play the organ, guitar and piano and enjoyed family and social gatherings and never missed the opportunity for a good laugh. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Friday, March 4 at Campbell Memorial Presbyterian Church, Weems. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Thursday, March 3 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Memorial contributions may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P. O. Box 515, Northampton, Mass 01061-0515.
