Sheree Coxton Obituary

Sheree Noelle Coxton, 41 years old, Knoxville TN formerly from Richlands VA received her Angel wings Sunday August 28, 2016, at her father’s home. She passed away in her sleep. She lit up any room she entered with her big bright smile and bigger than life personality. She never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone that came into her life. She will truly be missed by everyone that was blessed to have known her. I am sure her beloved dog “Sassy” (who passed a few years back and Cubby” were happy to see their “Mommy” again and now they are running and playing in Heaven as Sheree no longer has back problems to slow her down. Sheree Noelle Coxton was born on December 26, 1974 to her father Lenard Coxton of Abingdon VA and her mother Roberta Matney of Richlands VA whom are left to cherish her memory. She has her big sister Lynn Lester of Dandridge TN and husband Van who was truly a brother to her. Her only niece Savanah Lester of Dandridge TN and Savanah’s children Wyatt and Lacey whom she adored and called Wyatt her “Peanut”. She leaves behind her best friend for 30 years Melani Boyd, she was like a sister to Sheree. She also leaves Randal Ray whom she knew from kindergarten and was the brother she never had. Also to grieve her leaving, Donald Matney her mom’s husband Richlands VA whom she told her mother “he was a keeper” because they were sitting around talking and he was up running vacuum cleaner, etc. Two step-sisters, Kathy Matney Vansant VA and Sharon Thornsbury and husband Paul Grundy VA. Their children one step-niece, two step-nephews, and two step-great nephews with many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and co-workers that she leaves behind. Sheree graduated from Richlands High School Richlands VA 1992. Sheree and Melani moved to TN to further their education and they never looked back. Sheree received her Bachelor’s from ETSU, TN. She worked at Haslam House for 5 years, a home for troubled teens between the ages of 11-17. She left there and went to work for CVC Caremarkas a forecast analyst where she has continued to work for 11 years. Sheree attended Faith Temple Knoxville TN. Sheree was always a giver and volunteered at the Love Kitchen, Remember Betty (breast cancer), Knoxville Urban League, KARM (Knoxville area rescue mission) and Young Williams Animal Shelter. She believed in adopting her animals and Sassy herself was an adopted girl. Even in death she was still giving as she was a life donor and gave her organs, etc. to save others. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Ralph Shortridge officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitt Cemetery at Drill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Van Lester, Bo Lester, Fred Boyd, Randal Ray, Dale Blankenship, and Jeff Blankenship. The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. Online condolences may be made at www.honakerfuneralhome.net. “When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free. Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your heads bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared, miss me, but let me go. For this is a journey that we must take and each must go alone. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go to the friends we know. Laugh at the things we used to do, miss me, but please don’t cry for me, but let me go.”
