Mr. Major Clarence Fuller, age 92, of Rosedale, Virginia, passed away Monday morning (September 5, 2015) at a Lebanon, Virginia nursing facility. Born December 26, 1923 in Honaker, Virginia, he was a son of the late Major John and Fonnie Mae Musick Fuller. A lifelong resident of the southwest Virginia area, he was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church. A businessman by trade, he had formerly owned and operated M & R Motors in Honaker, Virginia for over forty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and other games, but most of all spending time with family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Laska Owens Fuller, and four sisters, Bertha Lee Fletcher, Edna Arnold, Hattie Honaker, and Ruth Dye. In his generation, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Carol Cox and husband, James “Sonny” of Rosedale, and Deborah Newberry and husband, Steve of Rosedale; one son, Larry Fuller and wife, Shirley of Rosedale; six grandchildren, Lynnette Compton, Janette Miller and husband, Jeff, Jamie Cox and wife, Melissa, Brandon Cox, Kalyn Newberry, and Kari Shortridge and husband, Jacob; six great-grandchildren, Lauren Compton, Abby Compton, Blaine Miller, Ian Cox, Cade Cox, and Lilly Cox; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Pastor Jeff Kinder officiating. Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Virginia. Pallbearers will be James “Sonny” Cox, Jr., Steve Newberry, Jamie Cox, Brandon Cox, Jeff Miller, and Cecil Miller.
