Mrs. Lisa Darlene Smith, age 43, of Bishop, Virginia passed away Friday (July 22, 2016) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born November 15, 1972 in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was a daughter of Richard Beavers of Tazewell, Virginia and Elaine Ward of Summersville, South Carolina. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a 1991 graduate of Tazewell High School and she enjoyed writing, especially in her journal. She had been a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church at Red Root Ridge, Virginia since August 31, 2015 and she was baptized by Elder Robert Whitt and Elder Craig Johnson.. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Louise Smith Beavers; maternal grandmother, Ethel Mae Sheppard; uncle, Jeff Beavers and one brother-in-law, Jared Smith. In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband of twenty-two years, Mark Aaron Smith of the home; two sons, Dustin Alexander Smith and Jody Aaron Smith both of the home; one daughter, Lendsey Lee Matney; one sister, Becky Vance of Crestview, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church at Red Root Ridge, Virginia with Elder Ronnie Beavers and Elder Ronnie Compton officiating. Interment will follow in the Simmons Cemetery near the church. Pallbearers will be Joseph Ewart, Robert Boyd, Austin White, Russell Smith, Michael Vance, Thomas Wright, Jacob Cyphers and J.C. Vance. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Lee Smith, Jr., Ryan William Smith and Booty Lowe. The family will receive friends at the Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church on Red Root Ridge after 6 PM Wednesday and Thursday. There will be a service both nights at 7 PM. Elders Ronnie Compton, Mark Blevins, Ezra Davis, Jr., Scott Childress, Keith Bowles, Blake Mullins and Willard Owens will be officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honakerfuneralhome.net.
