Euna C. Lockhart, age 95, of the Hurricane Creek section of Vansant, Virginia passed away Tuesday (October 11, 2016) in a Grundy, Virginia nursing facility. Born February 26, 1921 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late David and Rhoda Harris Lockhart. A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the Swamp Church at Hurricane Creek. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Alta Lockhart and Rossie Lockhart; seven brothers, Omar, Bert, Howard, Orba, Russell, Clyde and Clair Lockhart and three nephews, Brian Lockhart, Lloyd Lockhart and Bradley Lockhart. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Erma G. Wilson, Violet Presley, Lonnie Lockhart, Eddie Lockhart, Hazel Boyd, Temple Gilbert, Reva Bedwell, Ronnie Lockhart and Marla Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luther Bowman, Rev. Roy Lee Wilson and Rev. Carl Burmeier officiating. Interment will follow in the Lockhart Cemetery near the home. Pallbearers will be Howell Lockhart, Roger Hale, William Lester, Harold Hackney, Mick Compton, Eddie Lockhart and Blake Lockhart. Honorary pallbearers will be Woodrow Presley, Willis Taylor, Rita Gail Taylor and Ronnie Lockhart.
