Douglas Lambert

Mr. Douglas Wesley Lambert, age, 86, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (February 9, 2016) in Richlands, Virginia. Born May 10, 1929 in Gauley Bridge, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Elmer and Louise Ramsey Lambert. A veteran with the United States Navy, he had served during the Korean Conflict. He had formerly been employed as a Federal Mine Inspector and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Wells Lambert, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include four daughters, Bonnie Leonard and husband, Bob of Bonita Springs, Florida, Patricia Ann Price of Akron, Ohio, Christine Steele and husband, Billy of Honaker, and Vickie Davis and husband, Gary of Cedar Bluff; four sons, Douglas Lambert, Jr. and wife, Sarah of Grotto, Virginia, Donald Lambert of Honaker, Dwight Lambert of Atlanta, Georgia, and Terry Corns and wife, Donna of Honaker; one brother, Jack Lambert of Covel, West Virginia; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Helping Hands Hospice and Nursing Company and the Staff of Commonwealth Memory Care of Claypool Hill, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Jim Ensor officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Military honors will be conducted by American Veterans’ Honor Guard of Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Larry Lester, Jackie Bise, Gary Davis, Scott Rinehardt, Bob Leonard, Zack Perkins, and Larry Worrell Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Honaker and Larry Lester. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Helping Hands Hospice, 113 Short St. #7, Pounding Mill, Virginia 24637. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday.
