Milburn Wallace McNutt, 67 – Kingsport, TN Milburn “Wallace” McNutt, 67, of Kingsport, TN, formerly of Gate City, VA, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Indian Path Medical Center. Wallace was born in Sullivan County, TN on April 14, 1949 to Carson Hubert McNutt and Eula Mae Lyons McNutt. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Dora Lee Barnette McNutt. Wallace served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam campaign in 1970. For his service he received a Good Conduct Medal and an Honorable Discharge. Wallace is survived by sisters, Linda “Beetle” McNutt, Mount Carmel, TN, Wanda McNutt Carroll and husband Donnie, Maryville, TN, Lois McNutt Shelton, Greenville, TN, Eva McNutt Fields, Gate City, VA, and Rowena McNutt Pearcy, Kokomo, IN; brothers, Larry Hubert McNutt and wife Shelly, Orland, CA, Curtis Taylor McNutt and wife Meagan, Redding, CA, and David Christopher McNutt, Kingsport, TN; a special nephew, Logan Laws; special friend, Joel David Shelton; several nieces and nephews; two step daughters; and three step sons. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Johnny Smith officiating. Military Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at VA Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, TN by the American Legion Hammond Post #3, Kingsport, TN and Post #265, Gate City, VA. Roger Fields, Delmar Peters, Charles Fields, Robbie Fields, and Randy Lyons will serve as pallbearers.
