Goldie M. Cox – Kingsport. TN Goldie Mae Cox 62, Kingsport, TN passed away, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN. Goldie was born in Scott County, VA on February 27, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Avril and Ella Mae Robinson. In addition to her parents, her husband, Larry A. Cox, Sr. preceded her in death. Her survivors include daughters, Michele Smith and husband, Emerson, Kingsport, TN, Sandra Cox, Kingsport, TN, and Sarah Garcia and husband, Jose, Miami, FL; son, Larry A. Cox, Jr., Pound, VA; grandchildren, Jeremiah Cox, Aaron Kennedy, Billy Kennedy, Steven Smith, Sheena and Brandon Harris, Sabrina Lunsford, Summer Lunsford, Hunter Mullins, Gabriella Garcia, and Miguel Garcia; great granddaughter, Lola Kennedy; Zane Kennedy, Zxavier Cox, Charlie Smith , and Bentley Cox; sister, Helen Taylor and husband, Darrell, Castlewood, VA; brothers, Grady Robinson, Baltimore, MD, Dennis Robinson, VA, and Bill Parks and wife, Sue, Wise, VA; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. G.W. White officiating. The Gateway Singers will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 4, 2016 at the Cox Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Emerson Smith, Steven Smith, Jeremiah Cox, and Brandon Harris will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
