Coy Lee Jones-Gate City, VA Coy Lee Jones, 83, Gate City, VA, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence. Coy was born in Ft. Blackmore of Scott County, VA, on May 4, 1933 to his late parents, Charlie Patrick and Callie Melinda Flanary Jones. He is also preceded in death by his wife Frances Pauline Rhoton Jones. Coy is survived by his son, Jackie Lee Jones, Bristol, VA; sister Nancy Jones Salling, Kingsport, TN; brother James Jones, Gate City, VA; grandchildren Heather and Josh Petersen, Duffield, VA, Holly Jones and Mike Hiller, Bristol, VA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Gate City Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cecil Kern and Rev. Ricky Mann officiating. Music will be provided by Otis Lawson and Marsha Barnett. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Earl Hass, Cecil Austin, Jackie France, Tommy Stanley, Mike Hiller and Josh Petersen will serve as pallbearers. Monk Rhoton and Bill Flanary will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m., Thursday September 29, 2016 to go in procession to the cemetery.
