Clayton Burl Jones Gate City, VA Clayton Burl Jones, 89, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Wellmont Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. He was born in Scott County, VA on December 18, 1926. He was a farmer and an operator at Tennessee Eastman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jones; his parents Isaac Jones and Sallie Wolfe; sister, Blanche Payne; brothers, Kelsie Jones and Clancy Jones, and son-in-law, Charlie Tittsworth. He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Tittsworth, of Gate City, VA; a son, Richard Jones and wife, Christine of Gray, TN; sisters, Lucille Coomer of Gate City, VA, Elizabeth Greathouse, of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Garrett, John Tittsworth, Rachel Gardner, Sarah Smith, and Hannah Jones, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the home of his grand-daughter Ashley Garrett. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Wayne McCarty officiating. Burial will take place Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Jones Cemetery in the Yuma community. Ben Tittsworth, Eddie Payne, David Wilbanks, Cooper Garrett, John Tittsworth, and James Jenkins will serve as pallbearers, with Bill Jenkins and Ivan Moore serving as honorary pallbearers.
