Buck Corder – Dungannon, VA Charles Howard (Buck) Corder, 73, Dungannon, VA entered into eternal rest on October 3, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Buck was born in Scott County, VA on December 28, 1942. He was the son of the late Howard R. and Martha (Butler) Corder. He attended Valley View Church, Dungannon, VA until his declining health prevented him from doing so. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Vonda Hall Corder, Dungannon, VA; sons, Michael Corder and wife, Tammy, Dungannon, VA and Tony Corder and wife, Tracy, Church Hill, TN; grandchildren, Cassidy Hall, Bristol, TN, Clay Corder, Dungannon, VA, Jacob Corder and fiancé, Amber Lipe, Church Hill, TN, Anna-Marie Corder, Church Hill, TN; great grandchildren, Precious Malachi Corder, Church Hill, TN, Brooklyn Hall-Leonard, Bristol, TN, and Helen Hall-Leonard, Bristol, TN; sisters, Fran Pair, Gray, TN, Edna Bailey, Church Hill, TN, Doris Reddin, Charlotte, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herb and Ellen Johnson, Church Hill, TN, Charles and Barbara Hall, Church Hill, TN, Jody and Faye Baker, Kingsport, TN, Mack and Dorothy Quillen, Dungannon, VA, Coy Hall and friend, Betty Vicars; uncle, Coy and Shirley Butler, Kingsport, TN; aunt, Helen Murphy, NC; special friends, Gaye Renfro, Ernie and Diane Mitchell; childhood friends, George Hensley and Danny Cowden; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Dr. Todd Cassell and Rev. Ernie Mitchell officiating. Cassell’s Chapel Singers and Danny Cowden will provide the music. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Corder Family Cemetery, Dungannon, VA. Clay Corder, Jacob Corder, Stephen Hall, Charles Hall, Jr., Jim Corder, and Terry Dockery will serve as pallbearers. Charles Hall, Herb Johnson, Coy Hall, Jody Baker, David Dockery, Mack Quillen, Coy Butler, Glenn Alan Hummer, and Marshall Hall will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Friday to go in procession to the graveside service. The family wishes to give special thanks to his caregivers, Peggy Hensley and Dorothy Quillen, and to Wellmont Hospice associates, James Dias and Hope Hall for their love and care of Buck.
