Billy Lawson – Ft. Blackmore, VA Billy Ray Lawson, Jr., 61, Ft. Blackmore, VA passed away, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. He was born December 21, 1954. He was the son of the late Billy Ray and Myrtle (Gillenwater) Lawson, Sr. He is survived by his sisters, Shelby Kern and husband, Johnny, Church Hill, TN and Kathy Lane and husband, “Butch”, Ft. Blackmore, VA; brother, David Lawson and wife, Brenda, Dungannon, VA; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00p.m. – 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Gene Stallard and Rev. Wayne Stallard officiating. Marsha Barnett will provide the music. Burial will follow at Lawson Cemetery, Ft. Blackmore, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
