William Loving

Mr. William Reginald “Bill” Loving, age 86, of Covington, died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke. Mr. Loving was born in Fort Springs, WV, the son of the late William Reginald Loving and Mabel Mackey Loving Shepard. He served his country a member of the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict. Bill retired from the State of Virginia Department of Corrections with over forty years of service. Mr. Loving was of the Presbyterian faith. He especially enjoyed going to Ramp dinners. Mr. Loving is survived by nephews, H. David Loving, Jr. and wife, Melody, James L. “Jimmy” Hoover and wife, Patricia, Gary Hoover and wife, Judy, David W. Hoover and wife, Virgie, Randall L. “Randy” Hoover and wife, Shelly; a niece, Debra Loving; a sister-in-law, Barbara Loving; special friend, Annamae Gilbert; and numerous cousins, great nephews, and great nieces. In addition to his parents, William Reginald Loving and Mabel Mackey Loving Shepard, Mr. Loving was preceded in death by one brother, Harry David Loving in 2001; Katherine Loving Hoover in 2002; and a nephew, Ricky Hoover. A graveside service will be conducted at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Roger L. Bush officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until service time at Loving Funeral Home. Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
