Mr. Robert Eddie Grady, Jr., age 51, of Covington, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, after a short illness at his sister, Debbie Dudley’s, residence on Kline Street with whom he had been residing. Mr. Grady was born December 9, 1964 in Covington, the son of the late Robert Eddie Grady, Sr. and Jean Hoover Grady. A lifetime member of this community, Mr. Grady worked construction and with MPW for twenty-eight years and was well known as “Shady Grady”. He was a member of the Covington Moose Lodge. Mr. Grady is survived by his son, Brandon Grady and wife, Valarie of Blacksburg; his granddaughter, Ella Myles Grady of Blacksburg; three sisters, Angela Lockhart and husband, Jay, Melody Griffith and husband, Garry, and Debby Dudley, all of Covington; his step-sister, Patricia Gallimore; his step-mother, Judy Grady, both of Christianburg; nephew, Robbie Dudley of Covington; four nieces, Jenny Chambers, Kelly Pritt, Penny Pritt, and Amy Bates; special friend, Robert Richmond; and his “Angel”, Donna Terry. In addition to his parents, Robert Eddie Grady, Sr. and Jean Hoover Grady, Mr. Grady was preceded in death by his step-brother, Anthony Dalton. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations may be made to Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or the American Cancer Society, 9 East Church Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24011. Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
