Johnie Storey

Mr. Johnie Harold Storey, Jr., age 46, of Covington, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. Mr. Storey was born December 9, 1969 in Millington, TN, the son of Norma Jean Johnson and the late Johnie Harold Storey, Sr. During his working career, he had been employed as a manager of Shoney’s in Columbus, GA as well as working for JENFAB in Covington. Johnie was known for helping others and was very dedicated in taking care of his mother. In addition to his mother, Norma Jean Johnson, Mr. Storey is survived by his friends, Kimberly Javins Smallwood and Heather Dawn Hiser along with his godchildren, whom he loved as if they were his own, Tony “T.J.” Smallwood, Jr., Jeran Smallwood, Hunter Foscoe and Stephanie Leggett. Mr. Storey’s body has been donated to the Virginia State Anatomical Program. A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2016, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Noel officiating. The family suggests that memorial donations take the form of contributions to COPE-Food Pantry, C/O McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, 900 N. Alleghany Avenue, Covington, VA 24426.
