Ms. Bessie Icaphine “Icy” Bradley, age 92, of Covington, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. Ms. Bradley was born June 15, 1923 in Hinton, WV, the daughter of the late John Marshall Bradley and Allie Palmer Bradley. She was a homemaker. Icy was a member of Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Ms. Bradley is survived by a brother, Charles A. “Chuck” Bradley of Covington; two sisters, Allie Bradley Humphreys and husband, Milton of Covington and Regina Bradley Via of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Bradley was preceded in death by four brothers, John Marshall “Buck” Bradley, Jr., Edward Bradley, Rufus Guy Bradley and Ivan Hobert Bradley and two sisters, Imogene Bradley Barger and Virginia Bradley Harter with whom she had made her home for twenty-five years. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2016, at Johnson Creek Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert McFadden, William M. Humphreys, Jr., Terry A. Humphreys, Charles Bradley, II, Steve Harkness and Alfred Paxton. Alternate pallbearer will be Lonnie McKinney. The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until service time at Johnson Creek Associated Reformed Presbyterian Church. The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Johnson Creek Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 4804 Johnson Creek Road, Covington, VA 24426.
