Virginia Margaret "Toad" Fridley Nicely Wilmer, age 88, of 741 Clifton Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, May 25, 2015 at LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany, Low Moor. She was born February 15, 1927 in Nitro, West Virginia to the late Walter Thomas and Stella Mae McDaniel Fridley. She retired from the Coning Department of Industrial Rayon in Covington and was a member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Stanley Walton Nicely and her second husband, Raymond Lynwood Wilmer, Sr.; a son, Michael L. Nicely; a sister, Agnes Via; a brother, James T. "Chink" Fridley; and a daughter-in-law, Vicky Nicely. She is survived by two sons, Stanley W. Nicely, Jr. and wife Regina, and Raymond Wilmer II and wife Terry, both of Clifton Forge; a daughter -in-law, Jeannie Nicely of Clifton Forge; a brother, Jack L. Fridley and wife Margaret of Clifton Forge; eight grandchildren,Teresa Roberts and husband Barry, Penny Brewster and husband Jerry,Matt Rivera and wife Cindy, Amanda Morris and husband Tommy, Raymond "Ray" Wilmer III, Phillip Nicely and wife Michelle, Brian Nicely and wife Angela, and Morgan Sydenstrickler; two step grandchildren, Robert Boyd and Ashley Boyd; five great grandchildren, Alexis Richmond, Hailey Nicely, Kelsey Nicely, Marissa Nicely and Jackson Sydenstrickler; five step great grandchildren, Shaun Smith, Jr., Aftin Boyd, Gavin Boyd, Alexa Putnam and Amie Putnam; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the ICU nurses of LewisGale Hospital - Alleghany. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend J. Glenn Linthicum and Reverend Nathan Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family attending the service. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, PO Box 419, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
