August 18, 1959 – October 30, 2012

WAYNE FRANKLIN TYLER, SR., affectionately known to family and friends as “Big Wayne”, transitioned from earth to glory on October 30, 2012 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1959 to Rose Northam Tyler and the late William Tyler.

Big Wayne was educated in the Accomack County Public schools. In 1980, he graduated from the Eastern Shore Community College as a Certified Welder. He received many other educational certifications during his lifetime.

Wayne was a member of Macedonia A.M.E. Church in Accomac, Virginia. He was the drummer for their Gospel Choir and played every third Sunday. Wayne was very passionate about playing the drums and also singing. He sang with and played the drums for the Hallelujah Gospel Singers. He also played for the Voices of Thunder and the New Sons of Calvary.

Wayne was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at Perdue Farms in Accomac. He also worked previously with Tyson Foods.

Big Wayne enjoyed NASCAR, football, basketball, wrestling, boxing, and listening to the news. However, his greatest love was beating the drums!
